Nikolaus Gornik, CEO of Kopernikus IT Systems GmbH, founded his first company back in 1994 and laid the foundation for independence. Within a few years, 3 business areas developed from this - software development, system technology and web production.

In the area of ​​software development, an authentication solution based on SMS that was innovative at the time was also created, which won awards in the early 2000s and was used worldwide.

In 1999, the immediate predecessor of today's Kopernikus IT Systems GmbH was founded with the aim of offering IT system technology / operations.

2001 marked the beginning of the implementation of international IT surveys.

After moving out of the office in Haydngasse, Kopernikus moved to its current location in Absberggasse in the 10th district of Vienna in 2018.

Finally, in 2019, the London branch was founded and the management team in Vienna was expanded to include Susanne Sänger (COO) and Markus Pendl (CTO).
